Description
The Department of Communication Studies presents a lecture by Dr. Justin Eckstein of Pacific Lutheran University as part of their Fall 2017 Colloquia Series.
Popular health TV personailties might promise you a “breakthrough drink”and brands pay celebrities millions of dollars in endorsement to sell you their food products. The public is teeming with people telling you how to eat. How do chefs compete in such a crowded culinary public? Restaurants, menus, and plates are some of the places that chefs go to invent their message for the public.
In this talk, Dr. Eckstein theorizes food as a site of rhetorical invention.
