Annual Children's Exhibition of LAUSD's Saturday Conservatory of Fine Arts
The annual Children’s Exhibition of LAUSD’s Saturday Conservatory of Fine Arts will follow the Graduate Theses Exhibition. This year LAUSD/ SCOFA celebrate their 37th year at the Cal State LA Fine Arts Gallery. The exhibition features works of 270 children who have completed this year’s program. The Saturday Conservatory Fine Arts is a free 24-week program at Cal State LA and is sponsored by LAUSD Gifted/Talented Performing Arts Programs.

Art Department's Annual Undergraduate Exhibition Spring 2018 presents works by 93 students in the Department of Art in various media including Animation, Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Installation, Interactive Design, Painting, Print Making, Sculpture and more.
The exhibition is curated by the gallery student staff – Alex Rodriguez, Jed Surio, Nina Gibson, Tammie Nguyen and Uriel Sandoval.

CAA/MFA Exhibition is a part of the College Art Association (CAA) Annual Conference. This year Cal State LA’s Fine Arts Gallery is proud to host the 2018 CAA's MFA Exhibition "Sustainability and Public Good." The exhibition includes the current 20 MFA student works from 11 different MFA programs in Northern and Southern California. These artists were carefully selected from submissions of 23 MFA programs by 5 invited eminent Los Angeles galleries: Corrina Peipon of The Pit & The Pit II, Eden Phair of HONOR FRASER, HK Zamani of PØST, Mary Leigh Cherry of Cherry and Martin, Peter Mendenhall of Peter Mendenhall Gallery, and curated by the Cal State LA’s Fine Arts Gallery Director Mika Cho, and interdisciplinary artist Kim Abeles.
CAA is one of the largest associations both nationally and internationally for Art, Art History and Studio Arts professionals, and promotes the highest levels of creativity and scholarship in the practice, teaching, and interpretation of the arts. This year’s annual CAA conference is being held in Los Angeles from February 21 - 24, expecting 5000+ attendees from not only all over the US but overseas as well. The Exhibition Reception is set on Friday the 23rd at 5 to 9pm (open to the public), which will be one of four major receptions of the conference including Hauser & Wirth, Getty, LACMA and Cal State LA.
Music for the reception by Kelman Duran from 6-8pm
Kelman Duran is an artist, filmmaker, and musician who released “1804” through Hundebiss Records in Milan. He has received press from “The Fader and Fact Magazine.” He has created original edits and mixes for Radar Radio and NTS Radio in London. Duran is the Resident DJ at RAILUP who has performed “Mustache Mondays” at The Hammer Museum and MOCA in Los Angeles and the Tate Modern in London.
