This lecture series brings Cal State LA professors to Lancaster prison each semester to deliver special lectures on announced topics. The goal of the project is to offer prisoners not enrolled in formal educational programs exposure to new ideas and opportunities for intellectual growth. The lecture series is designed to be an enriching intellectual experience for prisoners in and of itself, but also to offer prisoners a taste of the academy and possibly inspire their future participation in formal educational programs. Graduate students interested in working with a professor to develop follow up learning activities for the men at Lancaster are encouraged to contact the Office for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good.
