The WordsUncaged Working Group (WWG) comprises of faculty and graduate students with an interest in issues of prison pedagogy and cultural representation. Its remit is to support interdisciplinary research in prison pedagogy in the service of Cal State LA’s BA degree at Lancaster State Prison, as well as further develop and refine the theoretical approach and praxis of the WordsUncaged project. A further objective of the working group is to secure new grants and funding opportunities to expand the project in new directions. The WWG meets bi-weekly in the Office for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good conference room.
