It Starts With You: A Community Seminar on Civic Engagement

Election years have a monumental and transformational impact on our national landscape. To prepare for the 2020 presidential election, several Cal State LA first-year writing courses joined together in a “Get Out the Vote” campaign, which involved work on projects promoting political awareness, involvement, and activism. Co-sponsored by the First-Year Writing Program, the University Library, and the American Communities Program, this community seminar will feature presentations of student work and a conversation on civic engagement with invited guest speakers.
