First generation Latina college graduate, Karissa Pimentel, is thrilled to return to her alma mater where she is “committed to empowering students to create and achieve their own definition of success.”
Celebrating a year with the CBE this upcoming November, Karissa tells us she’s excited to be back and “provide a supportive space for students by advising on institutional policies and procedures, program, and degree requirements, and related academic matters that help students stay on track to fulfill their educational and career goals.”
Karissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from Cal State LA. From there, she went onto complete a Master of Science in College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University. Before joining the CBE, she began her career in higher education as a Career Advisor with Pasadena City College’s G. Freeman Center for Career and Completion.
When Karissa isn’t busy working, she prefers to binge watch a TV show. At the moment, she is watching Money Heist!
