For Nabila Hassan, studying at the CBE has been nothing short of incredible. Studying Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, Nabila is set to graduate this spring with quite the resume. Currently, she is the Director of Events for the Marketing Club and the Vice President of Media for Toastmasters.
Alongside her Marketing Analytics and Research Society (MARS) team, Nabila recently won 1st place in the 3rd Annual CASE Competition. Together, they conducted research for the nonprofit MiOra to help them understand why there is an underrepresentation of minorities in STEM fields and how to remedy this issue.
Following graduation, Nabila hopes to land a job as a Brand Strategist and work her way up to a Marketing Manager role. Once she has gained “real-life experience,” she will return to school and pursue a Master’s degree.
Throughout her undergraduate career, Nabila has consistently felt supported by the CBE. Motivating her to always put her best foot forward, she exclaimed, “It’s a very welcoming environment so it makes me feel that everyone genuinely wants me to succeed.” But her biggest influence of all was Nikita Lau.
“She’s played a major role in my growth and she did that by introducing me to so many opportunities and the most memorable event that I had the pleasure of being a part of: The Women’s Leadership Panel. I was one of the moderators on the panel and Nikita ran the event. Being a part of that event was so inspiring for me.”
Paying it forward, Nabila hopes to share that same inspiration with new students. “I would tell them to never give up. Always stay persistent and motivated no matter how difficult classes may get. It will be challenging but it is not impossible.”
Nabila strived to maintain an admirable school-life balance, taking the time to have a day in the city, doing “anything that brings out the inner kid in me.” Her ideal weekend would be choosing between reading and Netflix. In fact, she would love to share “Sacred Women” by Queen Afua, an empowering self-help and self-healing book. As for Netflix, she most recently watched the Beyoncé documentary.
