Dr. Pamela Howell's passion for education is firmly rooted in her Jamaican heritage...
Dr. Pamela Howell is an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems in the CBE. She cites her teachers and mentors as the inspiration behind the belief that, “Education can change any future limited by circumstances to one with limitless possibilities.”
But her biggest inspiration of all has been her brother. Her brother is part of a coalition of Black and Hispanic Medical Doctors in Western New York and consequently encouraged her to pursue her Doctorate in Management Information Systems from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
While she decided to join the CBE because her colleagues on the Search Committee were very warm and welcoming, her passion for education is firmly rooted in her Jamaican heritage. In fact, her favorite quote is the motto of her Primary School in Jamaica, “Only the best is good enough.”
To unwind, Dr. Howell enjoys anime, writing poetry, and completing illustrations to accompany them. While she is currently reading textbooks, she will read “Ruby Bridges: This is Your Time,” once the semester is over.
