LGBTQ+ History Month celebrates the history and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community. The observance began as a call to action for the movement. Over the years, LGBTQ+ History Month has evolved into a national collaborative effort to bring extraordinary figures from the LGBTQ+ community into the spotlight.

This event showcases the work of our Faculty Fellows. Dr. Zhe (Meredith) Zhang (Sociology) will present her talk, "Parental Caregiving and Mental Well-being: How do Gender and Sexual Identity Matter?" And Dr. Julian Nykolak (Art) will present his talk, " 'The Doll Club': Greer Lankton and Trans-Figuration."
All Cal State LA students, faculty, staff, and alumni as well as community members are welcome to attend.

Let's come together as a community to highlight queer Asian & Pacific Islander experiences, stories, and narratives for LGBTQIA+ History Month! Within the Asian and Pacific Islander community, there are a lot of diverse issues, topics, and histories to discuss. It’s tea time! Join the GSRC and CAPS as we create a safe space for LGBTQ+ folks to be in conversation around topics that impact, move, and motivate folks in the LGBTQ+ community. The group will be facilitated by Queer-identified CAPS counselors. At each session, we will participate in fun craft activities while we discuss topics about the experiences of our community.
All sessions will take place within the Gender and Sexuality Student Resource Center on the second floor of the USU
