Modular Home - Team 1

Tasked to design an affordable Modular Home by introducing our compact house design. The modular homes will consist of a kitchen, living room, full bathroom, and a bedroom. Our design includes the bed, sink, shower, and table. The house will be powered by solar energy and will also be connected to save on water and electricity. Based on our modular design there will be room to add more modular homes on the side. Our team constructed the structural frame out of wood to keep construction costs at a minimum. In addition, wood is a material that can endure years of use and maintain structural rigidity. Each modular home will have two hundred fifty square feet of space to offer as living quarters to residents and potentially solve the ever-growing issue of affordable housing in Los Angeles.
Modular Home - Team 2

Tasked to design a modular home to solve the homeless problem since these homes are perfect for a place to stay and are cheaper compared to traditional construction homes. Our team decided to design a modular home with a right trapezoid-like figure that will have 300 square feet. In this space we provide a cozy living room, kitchen, bathroom, and a loft being a second floor with a spiral staircase leading to it. Our home will focus on using energy and water in an environmentally sustainable way which will make our home green. Using solar panels will provide a necessary energy source.
Our home also comes with the option of expanding it if the homeowner would like to. There will be a connecting hallway adjacent to the staircase. The hallway will be connected to the main modular home and another home that can be used as storage or another bedroom.
Modular Home - Team 3

Our project was to design and manufacture a modular home to lower the cost of a regular home and address the housing problem. This home was designed to be easily transported to the customer with Laser-cut stainless steel, aluminum exterior, and foam core insulation ready for the customer. Our home is shaped in a trapezoid from an aerial view so that we would be able to easily secure the sides of the home. Our modular connection is an industrialized nut and bolt to make the connections. With our budget of $300, we were able to buy all the necessary materials to manufacture our modular home.
Electric Bicycle Conversion

Our team was challenged with converting a traditional bike into an electric bike using products already available in the market with a budget of $600. With today’s economy, an electric bike could be a more affordable option of transportation compared to motor vehicles. If you have an existing bike that you are willing to use, then converting it into an electric bike would be a good investment. Apart from saving money, you will be helping the environment by not producing as much CO2 as you would driving gasoline cars. This bike will also benefit your lifestyle in a healthy way through the pedal assist function available with the motorized hub. We chose our specific components to maximize the efficiency of the bike and the rider's experience on the road.
Tree Climber

The tree climber’s original functions were to climb a tree and grab coconuts. The current objective of our project is to climb a tree up and down.
Assistive Wheelchair

Our team is modifying a previous wheelchair design to develop a workable prototype that is electric-powered, lightweight, stable, and safe.

Social Media Sticker Design

Use graphic drawing tools in order to design stickers to be used on social media platforms. Our project allows people to have more choices for stickers to be used in social media posts.
Coat of Arms for JL&A Produce

We were tasked to create a design of a crest for a local company of our choosing. The company we chose was JL&A Produce, a wholesale company in the city of Los Angeles. We had to create a Coat of Arms design that would represent JL&A Produce. In addition, our team had to fabricate two products using our design which are patches and stickers. The intended purpose was to create a patch and stickers for JL&A Produce that they could use as a promotion for the business and potentially on a redesigned uniform. Our group created the design with input from JL&A Produce to reflect the background and ideals of the company.
Coat of Arms for Businesses

The purpose of this project is to design a product that will honor the business chosen to better improve their overall image and services. The coat of arms design provides a comprehensive understanding of the business which will show a shield with three sections each representing the business in a unique way. The final product should result in a modern, fun, and mature design in combination with these elements to create a unique identity symbol for Bolt Auto Detailing.
