One Campus, One Book Panel Discussion

The Soloist, written by Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez, has been selected for our One Campus, One Book initiative. The book tells the story of Nathaniel Ayers, a gifted musician who was diagnosed with mental illness and living on the streets of downtown Los Angeles when he met Lopez.

The panel will feature Professor Nikola Alenkin of the School of Social Work, Professor John M. Kennedy of the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance, and Professor Molly Talcott of the Department of Sociology.

The event is sponsored by the First Year Experience Program, the Honors College, Phi Kappa Phi, the University Library and One Campus, One Book initiative.
