Issues affecting Black people and Black life have been in the news all year. From the Trayvon Martin murder and subsequent activism following the unjust verdict, to U.S. Supreme Court decisions restricting affirmative action and voting rights, to the rise in number of high-quality films and television series featuring positive Black images (including Fruitvale Station screening tonight, 11/14, at 6:15 pm in the U-SU Theatre), there’s a lot to talk about.
