James Refalo has a PhD from NYU and an MBA from Cornell University. James has substantial experience as a Municipal Bond Investment Banker, having managed over forty municipal bond issues, and as a trading floor derivatives researcher for a major Wall Street bank. His areas of expertise are in currency derivatives, foreign asset pricing, public finance, and capital investment, and he has written on a variety of topics in finance and economics. He teaches FIN 3310, 3350, 4030, 4310, 4400, 5310, and 5330, and was department chair 2012 - 2018, during which time he more than doubled finance & real estate department enrollments, grew minor enrollments thirty-fold, strengthened program content, and vastly improved student placement. He is a former naval officer, a Meisner trained actor, and has substantial public speaking experience
