Main focus: Cybersecurity; Risk and Ethical hacking, Database design; Online teaching (e-learning)
Other teaching interests: Information systems auditing; Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI); Healthcare Information Privacy and Security
Past: programming in C++, Cobol, Basic; Systems Analysis and Design; E-Commerce and other subjects; Healthcare Information Privacy and Security; Object-oriented e-development (OOAD) with UML; e-business (eB).


 

 
RESEARCH INTERESTS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Research interests parallel the main focus of teaching: Cybersecurity, Database Design, Online teaching (e-learning), Computer Information Systems Security/Internet Security, and Healthcare Information Privacy and Security, with the addition of Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) and databases.
Professional training includes software products and methodologies: ISACA/CISA Certified Information Systems Auditor, AWS Amazon Web Services, Information Security (Carnegie Mellon/SEI, Vigilar), CMMI (Carnegie Mellon/SEI), Oracle (Oracle, Designer), Rational Software (Rational Rose), Sun (Solaris), Sterling Software (COOL), Microsoft, Parametric Technology Corp.(Windchill) and in early years products from Computer Associates/ADR (Ideal), Texas Instruments (IEF Information Engineering Facility), Cullinet, Datacom.
Industry experience includes design and maintenance of manufacturing, financial, and insurance applications for various corporations, and healthcare applications.
Consulting experience includes domestic and international assignments such as evaluating international programs in Economics and Business for Eurasia Foundation, international consulting for Citizens Development Corporation (Washington, D.C.), and others.
Teaching experience, in addition to teaching at CSULA, includes a Fulbright scholarship and in the past organizing international distance learning (e-learning) remotely for overseas students through the Center for NIS Studies (CNISS) at CSULA.
