Hello! I am an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. My expertise is in the computer engineering fields, namely embedded systems and high-performance computing, with application to biomedical engineering. Currently, I lead the Bio-inspired Computing Laboratory, working with neuroscientists and physiologists to develop methods to reverse engineer the computation that takes place in the mammalian spinal cord.
Generally, I teach ENGR 1500 (Intro to Engineering) and EE 5020 (ECE Computation) in Fall semesters, and EE 2450 (Embedded Systems Programming I) and EE 5450 (Advanced Embedded Systems) in Spring semesters. I also assist in coordination between the ECE department and the EE/ME/ET Senior Design Capstone program.
I am the advisor for the IEEE student branch at Cal State LA, the Robotic Dog Research Program club, and the ECST CircuitSpace (ET B105 and ET B111). I also serve as a co-advisor (along with Drs. Bachman, Blekhman, Medina, and Shahverdi) for the Charging Eagles student competition team, part of the Battery Workforce Challenge.
