Our Services

Cal State LA students enrolled in a degree-seeking program and certain specialty programs have access to Student Health Center (SHC) services (refer to Eligibility for details). Most basic services are available at no out-of-pocket cost, some basic services and specialty services are offered at a reasonable cost. Service fees may be paid via cash, check or online payment.

LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS: Interpretive services are available to assist students with limited or no English proficiency.

The Student Health Center is required by law to protect the privacy of your health information and to provide you with a notice of privacy practices. The notice addresses all information that identifies you, payment for health care provided to you, how we keep your personal and health information private, and our legal duties and privacy practices with respect to health information. We are legally required to follow the terms of this Notice.

Lab tests are performed to support clinical care and treatment. Certain lab tests are available at no cost (e.g., urine pregnancy tests). Other tests are available for reasonable fees (e.g., chem panel, HIV and STD testing). Below is a sample of commonly ordered lab tests.

Family Planning Access Care Treatment (Family PACT) is a State of California program that offers no-cost family planning and related services, including free contraceptive methods, emergency contraception, and STI testing.

The Student Health Center is a Family PACT participant and offers:

  • Family PACT application and client eligibility certification
  • No-cost birth control methods, family planning, and related services (for Family PACT-eligible students)

Note: Family PACT is an optional program. Students who are not in the Family PACT program receive family planning, birth control methods, and related services for reasonable fees (if applicable).

Chiropractic care is provided by Los Angeles College of Chiropractic interns, supervised by a licensed chiropractor. The clinic offers:

  • Spinal adjustments
  • Treatment of low back and neck problems
  • Exercises for posture, movement, flexibility, endurance, strength, balance, and coordination

Peace Over Violence provides support to students who have experienced or been impacted by sexual violence and or domestic violence (for example, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, etc.).
