Cal State L.A.'s series What & Who:
California State University, Los Angeles will present a reading by Liz Rosenberg-- an award-winning poet and novelist--at its Annual Jean Burden Poetry Series. When:

A reception and book signing will follow the reading. Where:
Cal State L.A. University-Student Union, Alhambra Room. The University is located at the Eastern Ave. exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Fwy., at the interchange of the 10 and 710 Fwys. Public permit dispenser parking is available in Lots C and G, or the top level of Parking Structure II. Speaker:
Liz Rosenberg is the author of These Happy Eyes (prose poems) and two other collections of poems, The Fire Music (Agness Starrett Prize) and Children of Paradise (Paterson Prize Honor Book), as well as a novel, Heart and Soul, and numerous prize-winning books and anthologies for young readers. Her poetry has been published in The New Yorker, Poetry, American Poetry Review, The Paris Review, and elsewhere. Her poetry anthology, The Invisible Ladder, was named the New York Public Library Best Books for Teens and received the prestigious Claudia Lewis Poetry Prize for exceptional poetry for children. She is a book review columnist for The Boston Globe and teaches creative writing at the State University of New York at Binghamton (Binghamton University). More:
The annual poetry readings were established at Cal State L.A. in 1986 to honor Altadenan Jean Burden for her influence as a poet, essayist, anthologist, teacher and editor, and for her long-standing support of poetry on the Cal State L.A. campus. In addition to poetry, Burden has published a book of essays, Journey Toward Poetry, and articles and books on topics ranging from animal welfare to Oriental religion. Burden has also been the poetry editor of Yankee magazine for more than 40 years. Info:
