Janice Cordova
The garden honors the memory of Janice Cordova, the late wife of Cal State LA alumnus Richard Cordova, '72. Richard Cordova is a member of the Cal State LA President's Council, served as co-chair of We Are LA: The Campaign for Cal State LA, the university’s first capital fundraising campaign, and was named Alumnus of the Year in 2010.
Janice’s greatest joy was gathering and connecting with her family and friends. She had a passion for the arts, cooking, gardening, and interior design. She was known for her warm and generous heart. Janice was a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, and her legacy and life’s work was raising her three daughters. The roots she nurtured are deep and widespread and her traditions will continue to thrive through her loved ones.
Richard and Janice Cordova's family hope visitors to the garden will use the space to relax, meditate, laugh among friends, share ideas, and be inspired to be bold, brave, and creative.
