Majors
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is the transformation of ideas into reality and typically involves new venture development and business ownership. While business creation and ownership are typically the goals of entrepreneurs, they must work in all aspects of the business including management, project management, new business planning and development, customer service, marketing, and operations management.
Healthcare Administration
Healthcare Administration is a “hot” and expanding field catering to the projected largest employment sector of the U.S. economy by 2024. As the number of healthcare service employees increases, so does the need for those who know how to manage them. We are pleased to offer this NEW OPTION to our forward-looking business majors. It prepares students for understanding organizational tools and processes required to perform general management tasks in healthcare contexts. You may find yourself engaged in business analysis of a hospital or public agency operations or strategy, or redesigning a workflow to implement an electronic medical record system, or structuring healthcare benefits for your employees, or compiling a budget or advocating for patient rights at a community clinic or a wellness center you manage, or any other way in which you are or may be involved at some point in this burgeoning industry. And when you do, the Healthcare Administration option may prove a useful component of your Business Administration degree. It may also be excellent preparation for continued business studies such as in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Science in Healthcare Management (MS HCM) degree program.
Human Resource Management
Human Resource Management prepares students for careers in human resources management in both the public and private sectors. Career paths include generalist and specialist, positions in human resource planning, recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, job analysis, training and development, employment and labor relations, and other essential human resource functions.
