The Student Advisory Council (SAC) offers an exceptional opportunity for interested Cal State LA students to provide counsel to Student Affairs and Enrollment through the Dean of Students on the quality of student life and the co-curricular experience. Students will provide direct advice and feedback to the Dean of Students on emergent campus issues and help influence decisions concerning student services at Cal State LA.
Role and Expectations
Take the Lead
Foster a welcoming climate for students by serving as an Advisor, Liaison, and Problem Solver for the Dean of Students.
- Counsel the Dean on pressing issues directly impacting the Cal State LA campus community.
- Facilitate open, respectful, and steady communication between the Dean and the Cal State LA campus community.
- Actively invested in issues related to the student experience and student services at Cal State LA and learn institutional policies and regulations to produce effective strategies.
Council Expectations
- Grab lunch and Gab! SAC meets monthly and includes lunch.
- One (1) Monthly Opportunity to meet one-on-one with the Dean of Students.
- Come prepared to discuss with a collaborative attitude and topics pertinent to Cal State LA students.
Member Standards
- Students will serve on SAC for one (1) year, with the potential for renewal of up to one (1) additional year.
- Students interested in being a member of SAC must complete an interest form.
