Before you apply
Undergraduate students are eligible if they major in any departments or schools within the Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services (HHS). Students must have completed at least 60 units of college credit, are available to participate full-time during the summer, and are a member of an underrepresented group. Groups included are African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, and Pacific Islanders. Each group must demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in biomedical, behavioral, and/or clinical research.
Drs. Morland and Keslacy will review all of the applications and invite the students who demonstrate the most interest in research with the highest academic performance to be interviewed. The program aims to enroll students from all disciplines within HHS; therefore, the selection of the interview is by department.
The applications are due by March 31st, 2024. The interviews will take place early April 2024 and the Scholars will be selected by the end of April 2024. An additional three weeks will be completed during the Fall 2024 semester.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until eight students have been selected or the program begins, whichever comes first
