In this fast-paced session, we'll showcase 8 strategies for enhancing the accessibility of your instructional materials stored in Canvas LMS.
Strategies include:

  1. Creating an accessible course syllabus.
  2. Sharing Library holdings with students using Reading List.
  3. Cleaning up old/unused course files using TidyUP.
  4. Leveraging remediation services from ITS.
  5. Ensuring accessible video with Panopto.
  6. Formatting for accessible text and images in Canvas.
  7. Creating accessible documents in Office.
  8. Monitoring the accessibility score of course materials using Ally.

Accessible instructional materials are key to enacting the University’s mission of promoting a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. By ensuring instructional materials are accessible, faculty help promote EDIB within their teaching and create an equitable learning environment that benefits all students.
