The Neurodivergent Collective, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) Club, and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Assistant Professor, Dr. Pau Abustan, are hosting a panel and reception where we will learn and engage with creators and voice cast members of "Wylde Flowers." Not only has "Wylde Flowers" been honored as Game of the Year on both Nintendo Switch and Apple Arcade, the game also celebrates neurodivergent, queer, and BIPOC identities. We will discuss how this youth popular culture animated story video game is created by and for the empowerment of our diverse communities. Participants will have the opportunity to meet, mingle, and take photos with video game creators and voice cast members while learning about their industry experiences. In addition, participants will have the chance to engage in multiple feminist, trans, queer, neurodivergent, and BIPOC affirming activities and experiences. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided thanks to Cal State LA's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This is an in-person and Zoom hybrid event open to Cal State LA students, staff, and faculty. For those interested in participating virtually, Zoom information will be shared once you sign up.
