Tuition and Fees
The MPA Program provides an accessible and flexible education in public administration for public and non-profit administrators. For Fall 2024, the in-state tuition and fees are $2,745.10 for 6 units and $4,341.10 for 6.1 units or more. Out-of-state graduate students are assessed an additional $420 per course unit (An additional $1,260 per 3-unit course). Financial Aid
To determine financial aid eligibility, students must file an annual Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA). Separate applications are required for scholarships and Federal Direct Student Loans. More information about applying to and receiving financial aid.
Scholarships
Each year the Political Science Department recommends the award of several scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. Students can apply for scholarships through the Center for Student Financial Aid & Scholarships. More information about Cal State LA Scholarships.
Ake Sandler Scholarship
Awarded to a Political Science major with a 3.0 GPA or higher in all CSULA Political Science courses. Applicant must meet the following conditions: 1) Completed at least 28 units of undergraduate work in Political Science above the 2000 level at Cal State LA, 2) Undergraduate student in good standing or former student who received a B.A. in Political Science during the preceding calendar year, and 3) GPA of 3.0 in all Political Science courses completed at Cal State LA.
William E. Lloyd Memorial Fellowship
Awarded to a student who is admitted and enrolled in a master's degree program in History, Political Science, or Public Administration with at least a 3.50 GPA, the completion of at least one 5000-level course, and evidence of University and/or community service.
James M. Rosser Emeriti Fellowship
Awarded to a student who is admitted and enrolled in a master's degree program in Science, Public Administration, or Education with at least a 3.50 GPA, the completion of at least one 5000-level course, and evidence of interest in public service and University and/or community service.
Natural and Social Sciences Dean’s Scholarship
Open to all majors in the School of Natural and Social Sciences with at least a 3.0 GPA and Upper Division standing.
