Information Technology Services is in the process of upgrading adaptive workstations across campus. The upgrades will include new hardware that will improve access to these workstations, provide students with a unified experience across all public computing labs and technology classrooms, and align resources with the campus's dedicated assistive technology lab. The upgrades include:
- Larger, fully articulating screens
- Electrically-adjustable desks
- Additional input devices such as trackballs and high-contrast keyboard
- Scanning cameras
- webcams and headsets
- Dedicated, stand-alone, video magnification (limited number of workstations)
- Electronic braille (limited number of workstations)
The adaptive workstations across campus are designed to increase access and are supplementary to the service and support provided by the Accessible Technology & Learning Center (ATLC). Students affiliated with the Office to Students with Disabilities (OSD) can receive help with assistive technology and training on software at ATLC.
